For Novites, at least, tomorrow is the first day of school, and I'm feeling kind of sorry not to be joining them. That is, I am REALLY looking forward to our trip, but it's going to be hard not to be with my friends at NOVA, and to realize that I am not going back. Ever. (Unless I visit, but everybody always says that they will and then don't and also it is more dramatic to say "Ever").
I think that it doesn't help that it still seems somewhat unreal that we are leaving, despite the fact that there are less than 57 days until we leave. And thinking that there are only 57 days until we leave is stressful, because we still haven't rented the house and are not sure where Lillie is staying and, admittedly, it is mostly my parents who are dealing with things like that and we have several people who might take Lillie (thank you McKenzie + co, non-Novite Olivia + co, and Aunt Diane and Uncle Rick) and are interested in possibly renting/house sitting, but still.
And, too, (unrelated--is it a figment of my imagination that "and, too," is more correct than saying "and too," and, if so, why does "and also," not seem to have the need for a second comma? Are all four equally correct?) I have to fit stuff to last 6 months in cold weather, hot weather, wet weather, and in-between weather in a backpack which is not particularly big as luggage goes. Lucky for me, I have my skilled-packer father to help me fit stuff in. He says that I am going to be on my own, but I am crossing my fingers that if I absolutely can not pack correctly I will get some help.
