Despite walking around for a long time in this part of the city I don't have all that much to say as, being new year, all of the stores, restaurants, and museums were closed. In a traffic circle there was an impressive statue given to the city by Spain in 1910 and, in the park across the street, there was a Rodin sculpture and some others.
Last night my parents went for drinks at the square just a block or so away from us but, though told that people would be tangoing in 10 minutes, the dance was wrapping up. They did, however, see a drum parade assembling so my dad came home and got me and we joined the huge crowd of people to watch.
For some reason the main memory card for my camera isn't working. It wouldn't fit in the camera for a while, then suddenly did but the camera couldn't detect it. I have a back-up memory card (which I am now using) but I worry that it can't hold a fifth the number of pictures.
Today we have a bus at 2, and maybe I won't be able to post tomorrow because it will be 25 hours and I will be exhausted. Hopefully the road will be a little less bumpy than the one to Cusco. I would say where I was going, but I'm not quite sure. Bariloche, maybe?
